Dear friends and family,

I wanted to send you a quick note  to let you know what happened this past week...

Thanksgiving AM I put a note on face book, stating that my heart was full, ’10,000 reasons for my heart to find’, from Matt Redmon's song ‘Bless the Lord O my soul.’  Little did I know that I would have to put to practice some of the lines in the song…’Whatever is past and whatever is before me, let me be singing when the evening comes.’

I woke early that am with a racing heart and a heaviness/pressure across my chest.  When this continued through breakfast, etc, I talked to Jesse and Sharla, who listened to my heart and took my blood pressure, etc.  Sharla strongly encouraged us to go to a clinic to get checked out.  The test done at the clinic confirmed that we needed to head to an emergency room.  Great!  Happy Thanksgiving to me!!

After several hours in the emergency room where they tried to get my heart rate back to normal, doing several tests, and using Diltiazem . The doctors decided that I needed to have a conversion (shock treatment).  My heart rate immediately returned to normal and I was sent to a room on another floor to remain overnight for observation.  I had a fairly good night other than all the interruptions for vitals, blood tests, etc.

I was released from hospital on Friday evening (after a frustrating 6 hour wait for the discharge papers) and am now back at Sharla’s doing well, other that fighting a little cold.

This coming Tuesday I return to the Dr for a stress test and other follow-up stuff.   I would appreciate your prayers.

Tomorrow we are scheduled to move into our place close to Sharla’s here.  We are looking forward to setting up our little place here.

I had a Christmas letter ready to send out...which I now have to update.  It will be coming soon!

Oh no! That is not the ideal way to spend a Thanksgiving. :( Glad you are doing okay and your move goes smoothly.
